The LTTE was set up along military lines and had sections dedicated to specific operations. They masterminded suicide bombings to perfection as well as seaborne hijackings of cargo vessels. They used an overseas network to fundraise through many means, mostly illegitimate through front organizations, to channel overseas funds back to Sri Lanka from southern India and Canada's Tamil communities.
