What five principals should the vertical wiring on your network follow?

What will be an ideal response?

The vertical wiring on your network should follow these principles:
Deploy an extended star topology between devices (or sometimes daisy-chained when you connect wiring closets between floors).
Use high-speed cable, typically multimode fiber-optic cable, to reduce the congestion on the backbone and because it is not susceptible to EMI and RFI.
Follow the EIA/TIA-568-B or EIA/TIA-568-C standards for vertical or backbone cabling.
Use riser-rated cable (cable rated to go between floors) for cable runs through cable ports or vertical shafts, following Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and National Electrical Code (NEC) standards for fire and flame resistance.
Install fire-stop material to cover cable throughway openings between floors, particularly when there are three or more floors (or as specified by UL and NEC standards and local building codes).
