Briefly describe the role of OSHA in regard to employment protections. Give an example of a possible workplace hazard that would be a failure to meet OSHA standards.

What will be an ideal response?

This federal act sets mandatory standards for safety and health for all employees. It requires employers to operate a place of employment that is free from recognized hazards that are likely to cause serious injury or a fatality.

Examples will vary greatly, but accept any that would pose a recognized hazard. For example, an environment that contains asbestos, not offering HepB vaccines for employees with potential exposure to blood, fall hazards, unsteady work surfaces, safety labels not on hazardous materials, etc.
