Rapid loss of blood may lead to shock and death. What series of events do the kidneys initiate to raise the blood pressure of a person who has been severely cut to prevent shock and subsequent death?

What will be an ideal response?

The kidneys produce renin in response to lowered blood pressure. Renin stimulates the production of angiotensin in the bloodstream. Angiotensin constricts arterioles, which decreases bleeding and reduces blood flow to the kidneys so that less water is lost in urine. This results in increased blood volume and thus pressure.
