Discuss why trust seems to be the key to successful teams. Specifically, how might trust or lack thereof affect MDTs?

What will be an ideal response?

The chapter explains that trust is where skill and interdependence come together to create trust among other team members. Trust and distrust guide how we think about other people, their decision-making skills, actions, and intentions. In an MDT, if there is a lack of trust among members, they cannot do the work needed. For example, if someone does not trust the law enforcement on the MDT, they will not refer to them for law enforcement advice. Likewise, if someone does not trust the prosecutor, they may inhibit the prosecutor’s ability to access knowledge and case information pertinent to the case, leading to a whole lot of team dysfunction and negative outcomes.
