What is rape culture? How does it affect victims of sexual assault? What should be done to eradicate this problem in our culture?

What will be an ideal response?

ANS: Rape culture is when myths are perpetuated in a culture that allow rape to persist. Some of these myths include the idea that when women say no to sex, they really mean yes, and that rape is a form of sexual fantasy for women. Further, the idea that a woman can cause herself to be raped by dressing a certain way or being in a certain place, also known as blaming the victim, perpetuates rape culture. Rape culture affects victims of sexual assault by making it personally difficult to report these crimes and by putting victims out for judgment and ridicule by the culture.
