Why wasn't Jane Addams recognized as a sociologist during her lifetime?
What will be an ideal response?
Because she did not teach in a university, Jane Addams was not considered a sociologist during her lifetime. No doubt due to the fact that she was a woman, and that she worked for social reform directly with the poor, she was considered a social worker.
