What permissions must a user have in order to view data in Activity Monitor? What happens if the user runs the tool but lacks sufficient permissions?
What will be an ideal response?
To view data in Activity Monitor, a user must either be a system administrator on the SQL Server instance or be granted the VIEW SERVER STATE server-level permission. If a user lacks permission, he or she will still be able to launch the tool but the text "No Data" will display in red in each section.
