Episodic memory is a type of declarative memory and involves knowledge of specific events, personal experiences (episodes), or activities, such as naming or describing favorite restaurants, movies, songs, habits, or hobbies.

Procedural memory, also called nondeclarative memory, involves memories for motor skills (such as playing tennis), some cognitive skills (such as learning to read), and emotional behaviors learned through classical conditioning (for example, fear of spiders).
