Describe and discuss the environmental problems of Mexico City
What will be an ideal response?
Problems in the Valley of Mexico include smog and depletion of the aquifer that underlies Mexico City. The smog from automobiles and industry is exacerbated by thermal inversions trapping the pollution into the high elevation valley. The depletion of the aquifer has also contributed to subsidence. High population in the city and squatter settlements are also adding to the problems.
