Explain the use of the Heimlich on obese patients
What will be an ideal response?
It may be difficult or impossible to perform any type of manual thrusts when standing behind an obese patient because you may not be able to wrap your arms completely around their body. In such cases, all manual thrusts must be performed from the front. To make these steps easier to perform, it is best to have the patient either lying down or seated.
