Describe several detrimental effects of obesity on the cardiovascular system

What will be an ideal response?

Obesity strains the heart, forcing it to pump blood through the many additional miles of blood vessels that supply body fat. Over time, this strain can weaken and damage the heart. Moreover, moderate and vigorous exercise is more difficult for people who are obese, but exercise benefits the cardiovascular system by, for example, helping to control blood pressure and reduce stress, and by increasing HDL and reducing triglycerides. Finally, obesity is a primary risk factor for type 2 diabetes, which in turn increases the risk of CVD.
