If a transaction wants to read one or more tuples in a table, it gets an S lock on the entire table.
If a transaction wants to write one or more tuples in a table it gets a SIX lock on the table and
an X lock on the tuples it writes. No phantoms can occur because if one transaction has an S
lock on the table, no other transaction can get a SIX lock on that table.
