How do aortic and left ventricular pressure compare through the cardiac cycle?
What will be an ideal response?
Answer: During systole, left ventricular and aortic pressures are very similar, but slightly higher in the ventricle, as the ventricle is contracting the aortic valve is open, and blood is being pushed into the aorta. During diastole, the aortic valve closes, and ventricular pressures fall very low and below aortic pressure.
