List at least 3 adaptations of rocky intertidal animals to resist desiccation

What will be an ideal response?

Animals living in the rocky intertidal show a number of adaptations against desiccation. Among these are choosing special living arrangements within crevices or among other animals of the same species. This reduces water loss by decreasing the exposed surface area. Many animals can also close their shells when exposed in order to conserve water within. In addition, some animals can simply pick up and move out of exposed areas to tidepools or to the water line.
