Hydrogen peroxide solution is often used to sterilize cuts and scrapes. Why does hydrogen peroxide bubble when it is poured on an open wound but not when it is poured on intact skin?

What will be an ideal response?

Catalase is found in the blood but not on the skin. When the peroxide is exposed to the
blood of an open wound, the catalase breaks it down into water and oxygen gas. The
oxygen being released through the water causes the production of bubbles.
