What distinguishes Valley or Alpine Glaciers, Ice Sheets, Ice Shelves, and Sea Ice from each other?
What will be an ideal response?
The major differences are scale and location. Valley glaciers and Ice sheets both are found on land while Ice shelves and sea ice are found on water. Ice shelves are connected to land while sea ice is floating free. Valley glaciers are localized in mountainous regions or within relatively limited areas while Ice sheets cover continent scale areas.
