Select two classes of HIV drugs, and fully explain how they work. Can they cure HIV?

What will be an ideal response?

Students may describe reverse transcriptase inhibitors, protease inhibitors, fusion inhibitors, or integrase inhibitors. Reverse transcriptase inhibitors prevent the conversion of viral RNA to DNA. Protease inhibitors block the processing of viral proteins needed to properly package the viruses. Fusion inhibitors block receptor sites on the host cell. Integrase inhibitors prevent viral DNA from integrating into host chromosomes.
