What is meant by the term nondirectional test?

What will be an ideal response?

A nondirectional test is also referred to as a two-tailed test. This is a situation in which the ? used in the hypothesis test is split in half and placed in both tails of the distribution such that there are two values of the test statistic. Stated in a less scientific manner, the alternative hypothesis used in a two-tailed test does not make any prediction about which mean under analysis is greater than or less than the other one. The alternative hypothesis simply makes a statement about a difference, or inequality, between the mean.
