The system captures energy during braking and uses that energy when the vehicle is accelerating from a dead stop. The hydraulic system captures a large percentage of the energy normally lost during braking. That energy stored in hydraulic tanks attached to the vehicle's chassis. When the driver begins to accelerate from a stop, the system’s computer instructs a pump to send the stored energy to the drive shaft. At this point the vehicle moves without power from the engine and without burning any fuel. Once the computer senses that the energy stored in the tanks has been used, the engine will start and take over the operation of the vehicle. The energy is restored in the tanks during the next application of the brakes.
