What are the phoneme restoration and word superiority effects? What process do they illustrate?

What will be an ideal response?

The phoneme restoration effect is the finding that if a sound (phoneme) is absent from a word, that we may perceive the missing sound when we listen to the word in context.
The word superiority effect is the finding that letters are more quickly and accurately recognized if they are in the context of a word compared to non-word contexts.
Both of these effects are demonstrations of the effects of top-down information on the perception of language.
