Discuss the two major types of CDR reviews. What are the differences?

What will be an ideal response?

The two major types of reviews are the retrospective and immediate response reviews. Retrospective reviews take place after most, if not all, of the investigation and information gathering has been completed. This is the most frequent method of review. These reviews are designed to make recommendations as to what types of initiatives can be implemented to prevent similar deaths from occurring in the future. The review meetings are held on a set schedule, with an identified set of team members, and typically the reviews encompass all deaths that occur within a specific amount of time. Immediate response CDR will occur within 24–48 hours of specified manners of death, usually those that are unexpected or unexplained. Using this method, the team discusses case information immediately, which can influence the active investigation of a child fatality.
