The promise is both vague and ambiguous in multiple problematic ways. Who does "we" refer to? The candidate's party, the candidate personally, or the legislature? What does "do what is right" mean? Does it mean follow the laws, impose the values of a given group only,for example, the middle class, the members of a given religion, or the advocates for a given cause? And when exactly does this promise get kept, because as it is presented there is no timetable being suggested?
