What is the seigneurial system, and how did this feudal system encourage the settlement of New France by selected groups of migrants?

What will be an ideal response?

The seigneurial system is an extension of the French feudal system and is similar to the manorial system. Landholders, or seigneurs, swore allegiance to the king of France, paid for peasant tenant workers to come to New France to tend their fields, and only allowed their tenants to tend their fields.
