If we want to evaluate the effectiveness of a therapy for some psychological disorder, what is scientifically the best way?

What will be an ideal response?

Asking patients or their therapists for an evaluation is improper. The best way is to assign patients randomly to a treatment group and a waiting-list group. After some period, such as six months, evaluate the improvement in each group, either by having them fill out standardized questionnaires, or by having a blind observer evaluate them.
