Describe a steady-state economy model.
What will be an ideal response?
In a steady-state economy all resources are recycled or reused continually and there are essentially no wastes and no inputs of new resources, as takes place in nature. There would be no overall growth, but energy and materials would still flow for the benefit of all, and thus economic activity would still take place. Jobs would be created not through the use and depletion of resources but through the creative use, reuse, and recycling of the resources we have. For example, mining jobs would decrease sharply, but jobs would grow in the areas of sustainable design, manufacturing, delivery, reuse, remanufacturing, and recycling.
