Some teachers might be reluctant to directly address the causal conditions of misbehavior with students. Think of at least one behavior in each of the following areas that you would address directly with students, and write a brief script that explains what you would say to your class. Use the grade level of your preference.

a. Conditions that seem to reside with the individual student
b. Conditions that seem to reside in peers and groups
c. Conditions that seem to reside in the instructional environment

What will be an ideal response?

Answers will vary; evaluate for appropriateness of the chosen causal conditions and the quality of the explanation given to the students about how a particular condition affects learning. Note: In reality, we think it unlikely that many teachers would talk explicitly about the causal conditions that seem to reside within teachers and other school personnel; however, it could be done in a meaningful and effective way. Nevertheless, we left that category out of the question.
