Your law firm represents Client A. While at book club, your favorite personal activity, you learn information about Client A. Are you required to keep that information confidential?
What will be an ideal response?
If I learn information about a client that is currently being represented by my law firm then yes, I am still required to keep that information confidential unless I am disclosing it to my supervising lawyers. This way, no unwanted information gets released to the public and the law firm representing the client will not break the attorney/client privilege and confidentiality between the client and law firm.
