What are the structural preconditions for violence? When do they exist?

What will be an ideal response?

One precondition for violence is the existence of some social strain or social deprivation. This strain exists when some groups in society do not have the opportunity to achieve their goals through socially acceptable means. Another precondition for violence is competition between people over money, jobs, territory, and other scarce but valued resources. The more intensely groups compete, the more threatening each becomes to the other, and the more likely one side or the other will resort to violence or terrorism.
