Discuss how renin and angiotensin II lead to aldosterone production to restore low blood pressure to normal

What will be an ideal response?

When blood pressure is low, the kidneys release an enzyme called renin. Renin, in turn, triggers the production of angiotensin II. Angiotensin II is a potent stimulator of aldosterone release. Aldosterone targets the kidney and promotes sodium reabsorption by the tubule cells of the kidney; water follows and is also reabsorbed when aldosterone is present in the kidney. The increased blood volume, due to water reabsorption, leads to increased blood pressure.
