Define and discuss the security measure at medium-security facilities.

What will be an ideal response?

Medium-security facilities may consist of dormitories that have bunk beds with lockers for inmates to store their possessions. These facilities tend to have communal showers, toilets, and sinks. Dormitories are locked at night with one or more security officers holding watch and conducting routine patrols. Inside the dorm, supervision over the internal movements of inmates is minimal. The perimeter of these facilities, when they are not connected to another larger facility, is generally a double fence that is regularly patrolled by armed security personnel. In modern times, the external chain-link fences and other security features (e.g., cameras) may be the only clue that the grounds are, in fact, prisons for inmates.
