Explain why you might not be able to easily measure the power use of an electric appliance and what to do if this occurs.

What will be an ideal response?

You will not be able to easily measure the power use of some electric appliances, either because they operate on
240 volt power, which most power meters cannot monitor, or because they are hardwired into the home’s electrical
system and cannot be plugged into the power meter. Most of these appliances will carry a label that includes a
maximum power rating. If you cannot find the label on the appliance, the power consumption information will also
be included in the operating instructions that come with it. If these are unavailable, you can find the same
information on line by searching for the brand and model of the appliance.
