Given a MANET consists of n wireless devices, what can you say about the capacity of the network? How is this related to a VANET?
What will be an ideal response?
Devices in an ad hoc network utilize the same channel and increasing the
number of nodes in the network simply increases the probability of collisions
among different users. So, the capacity of an ad hoc network does not increase
with the number of users and the upper bound is restricted by bandwidth of the
channel being employed. This means, the channel bandwidth is divided equally
among the devices. Based on this, VANET is rural area may have higher
bandwidth due to sparse connection.
