They include adult speech that involves drawing conclusions, inferring cause and effect, planning, evaluating consequences or effect and modeling and/or suggesting child contemplation. Low-level distancing strategies include labeling, producing information, and observation remarks or comments which afford the child less opportunity to think more deeply about the experiences he shares with the adult.
