Explain how various factors such as culture and fear can effect school achievement

What will be an ideal response?

ANSWER: School adjustment and achievement have long been the focus of educational research.
Both areas are affected by a multitude of factors in the neighborhood, the family, the children, and the schools. Much concern has focused on adjustment and achievement of children from the various cultural groups that make up our diverse population. SES and parents’ education level are two of the critical factors effecting children’s school success. A quality educational program can alleviate some of the problem. The fear of not meeting achievement goals is common among primary grade children. If failure continues it can lead to learned helplessness by the intermediate grades. A low-anxiety classroom atmosphere can alleviate these problems.
