Explain the approach of a hunter hack class.
What will be an ideal response?
ANS:
The hunter hack class combines the hunter under saddle and hunter over fences classes. In the hunter hack class, the horse is required to jump two fences, generally between 2 feet and 2.5 feet high. They generally are asked to hand gallop after the jump and then halt. They are then required to walk, trot, and canter in both directions on the rail. The jumps are given more emphasis than the rail work; therefore, rail work is used mostly to break ties between horses. The rail work is judged in the same way as a hunter under saddle class, and the jumping portion is judged on the same criteria as a hunter over fences class.
