What is persuasion? Why should businesspeople master this skill?


Persuasion is the process of motivating someone to take a particular action or to support or accept an idea. Examples of taking a particular action include buying a product and hiring a service. Persuasion is necessary for businesspeople to convince others to do something they otherwise would not do. For example, businesspeople must persuade customers to buy a product, persuade their employees to carry out tasks, and persuade their supervisors to accept their ideas.
