According to a pioneering study by Kurt Lewin, what is the importance of leadership style?

What will be an ideal response?

Leadership styles do make a difference in how groups function, as shown by Lewin’s pioneering study mentioned earlier in the chapter . After reviewing numerous studies, Stogdill (1974) reached the following conclusions:
1 . Person-centered styles of leadership are not always related to group productivity.
2 . Socially distant, directive, and structured leadership styles that tend to promote
role differentiation and clear member expectations are related consistently to
group productivity.
3 . Person-centered styles of leadership that provide for member involvement in
decision-making and show concern for the welfare of members are related consistently
to group cohesiveness.
4 . Among task-focused leadership styles, only the structuring of member expectations
is related consistently to group cohesiveness.
5 . All person-centered leadership styles seem to be related to high levels of member
satisfaction.
6 . Only the structuring of member expectations is related positively to member satisfaction in task-focused leadership styles.
