Describe the differences between an object and a word

What will be an ideal response?

Answer:
Concrete objects are objects that exist in nature. You can sense them, hold them, see them, etc. They take up space and have a mass. Their presence is so obvious to us that we have labeled them as being "real objects." We are objects, but we have the capacity to create concepts (things that exist only in our minds).
Words have the opposite qualities. They do not exist in nature. They do not take up space or weigh anything. You can put literally thousands of words in your head without gaining one ounce.
Words are invented by man to represent his inner and outer worlds to others. Problems arise when our words refer to abstract conceptualizations. Our definitions of words such as justice, fairness, goodness, mercy, and truth do not exist in nature. Their existence resides in our own heads, and we use words to model them to others. We use words to tell others of these concepts. We must do our best to listen to others as they describe their concepts to us for two reasons: (1) We may learn something new about the concept, and (2) We may learn something about the speaker and about ourselves.
