How are convergent and divergent questions different? Give examples to illustrate your response.

What will be an ideal response?


Convergent questions are closed-ended questions with a single correct answer, whereas divergent questions are open-ended questions that call for analysis or interpretation of information.  An example of a convergent question: How did the main character react when he learned of the accident?; an example of a divergent question: What might explain the  main character's reaction when he learned of the accident?
