Why are DNA binding dyes such as SYBR green integral to the technique of qPCR?

What will be an ideal response?

The SYBR green dye binds double-stranded DNA. As more DNA is synthesized in the qPCR reaction, the light emitted by SYBR green increases in proportion to the amount of DNA present. This is what allows real-time quantification of the DNA.
