Briefly explain how children can become exposed to lead, and how lead poisoning can harm children

What will be an ideal response?

Answer: Despite legal restrictions on the amount of lead in paint and gasoline, lead is still found on painted walls and window frames in older homes, and in ceramics, lead-soldered pipes, and automobile and truck exhaust. Exposure to lead has been linked to lower intelligence, problems in verbal and auditory processing, and hyperactivity. High lead levels have also been linked to higher levels of antisocial behavior, including aggression and delinquency. At even higher levels, lead poisoning results in illness and death.
