What is the benefit of a just-in-time inventory control system? Do you think that this system is appropriate for all companies?
What will be an ideal response?
By having parts and inventory arriving just in time to be used in the production process, organizations do not have to have a great deal of money tied up in inventory. Organizations have low inventories and this saves warehouse and work area space as well as holding down costs. In order to have an effective JIT system the organization needs to have suppliers that are committed to supplying quality parts on time and in the correct quantity. Organizations that do not have such suppliers or cannot accurately forecast demand should probably not utilize JIT.
