Shaken baby syndrome occurs when parents, guardians or caretakers vigorously shake a baby (infant) too hard resulting in brain injury/trauma. It can also result from direct blows to the head, dropping or throwing the baby or shaking the baby. Section b of this question is based on student's opinion; however, it could include parent's educating themselves on the physical indicators of abuse (bruises, burns, laceration and abrasions, skeletal injuries, head injuries, and internal injuries).
