What will be an ideal response?

Three strategies that may be used to teach social studies to students with disabilities include:
(i) Graphic organizers—visual displays that arrange words using boxes, cells, arrows, or other visual cues picked key concepts in a comprehensible format. It helps to inform learner regarding purpose and topics to learn, provide organization to instructional lessons, support curriculum adaptation and augmentation, and facilitate student participation through group formats.
(ii) Content enhancement routines—provide an organizational structure for students in understanding information to be learned. Content enhancement routines include advance organizers, graphic organizers, embedded strategy steps, interactive learning, study guides, charts, outlines, visual-spatial displays, and mnemonics. (Students may give examples of how each may be used in a social studies lesson).
(iii) Peer-mediated learning—cooperative learning arrangements in social studies are ideal for creating opportunities for students to work together cooperatively. Some cooperative learning methods are jigsaw, and teams-games-tournaments.
(iv) Use of media—the efficient use of media is another way of making content interesting and instructionally relevant. A substantial number of videotapes, films, and digitized media are available for instructional use.
