Describe the primary factors involved in growth

What will be an ideal response?

Growth hormone is necessary for growth, but other factors that affect growth include: (1) genes, which determine a person's maximum growth capacity; (2) adequate diet to provide necessary nutrients; (3) lack of chronic disease and stressful environmental conditions; and (4) normal levels of growth-influencing hormones such as insulin-like growth factors (IGFs), TH, insulin, and sex hormones.Growth hormones exerts it effects on growth indirectly, by stimulating the release of insulin-like growth factors (IGFs or somatomedins) from the liver and other tissues. The IGFs, in turn, stimulate cartilage production at epiphyseal plates in long bones and, thereby, promote the lengthening of bones. Generally, GH promotes the uptake of amino acids that can be used in protein synthesis, which is a primary factor in the growth of all cells.
