Why is computer language referred to as binary?

What will be an ideal response?

Data is nothing more than meaningful patterns of electrical pulses. Computer language is binary because it is based on the two possible states for an electrical circuit, on or off. Any time something is based on two, bi is generally used to denote it. For example, bipedal means walks with two feet. Because an electrical circuit can be on (represented by the number 1) or off (represented by the number 0) computers communicate in binary language.
