What is the glomerular capsule?
What will be an ideal response?
Answer: Hollow cup-shaped structure that surrounds the glomerulus. It contains a parietal layer (outer layer made of simple squamous epithelium which only contributes to structure) and a visceral layer (inner layer made of modified epithelial cells [podocytes] with foot processes that cling to glomerular capillaries and contribute to filtration in the capsule [through the filtration slits between foot processes])
