Give an example of when a child with a delay or disability should be provided full inclusion into a general education classroom.

What will be an ideal response?

An example of a child who should be fully integrated into a general education classroom is when the curriculum in the classroom best suits the child’s educational needs. Maximum inclusion should happen for a child who demonstrates the ability to continue to learn alongside his or her peers who do not have delays or disabilities. Only when a child is no longer served well in that classroom environment, should he or she be offered a different type of placement. Thus, a child with a mild delay in reading and writing, but who shows growth in his or her reading and writing in the general classroom, is a good candidate for full inclusion.
