What is the definition of and who are the candidates for developing amenorrhea?

What will be an ideal response?

Answer: Amenorrhea is clinically defined as having no periods for at least three consecutive months. It occurs normally in women who are pregnant, and usually throughout the first few months of breast-feeding. However, it can also signal a serious underlying disorder of the reproductive organs. Amenorrhea is also a common consequence of disordered eating. For example, it is somewhat common among athletes–especially gymnasts and long-distance runners–who train vigorously while restricting their calorie intake to maintain a competitive weight.
